Today, the Catholic Church observe World Mission Sunday. The month of October is dedicated to remembering the missionary work of the Church while the fourth Sunday is World Mission Sunday. On this Sunday, Christians throughout the world are invited to become aware of their common responsibility for the evangelization of the world and to pray and support all Christian missionaries through prayer and other means of assistance.

In Vienna, Filipino Catholics are very active in observing this Catholic feast. The St. Cecilia Choir, headed by Ms.  Deborah Beltran  Tschirch sang during the Holy Mass in conjuction with the celebration of the World Mission Sunday in the parish of Heart of Jesus, Töllergasse in Vienna`s 21st District.

In his message on the occasion of World Mission Sunday 2019, Fr. Josef Giggenbacher, parish priest said that the Church exists to proclaim the gospel. It is the person of Jesus Christ that the Church proclaims. It is His teachings and mandate that the Church would like to uphold at all times and in all places.

After the Holy Mass, the Association of Pangasinenses in Austria served typical Filipino foods to the delight of the parishioners.  The organisation donated a huge amount to the parish from the proceeds of this action.
