Vienna, Austria – The Ilonggo Community in Austria celebrated its 30th Anniversary on October 27, 2018 at the Arcotel Kaiserwasser, Vienna.
ICA (Ilonggo Community Austria) president Richard Artates is grateful for the support his administration has received during the past years from members and the Filipino community.
During the past 30 years, the organization has really harnessed its energy and resources to work together as one body. Present and past leaders of ICA have engaged in so many impactful activities that have not only helped to raise awareness for the causes they are supporting in Austria and in the Philippines, but they have also strengthened and solidified the ICA‘s standing as a reputable and relevant organization in Austria.
Senator Franklin Drilon joined the Ilonggos in Austria on the occasion of its 30th Anniversary.
„I wish to congratulate the Ilonggo Community in Austria on your 30th Anniversary of togetherness. For 30 years, you have done your share in responding to the needs of your beloved homeland, Western Visayas in particular,“ Senator Drilon said in his inspirational talk.
ICA has initiated a number of fundraising events to help their fellow „kababayans“ in the Philippines, especially those affected by calamities.
Aside from conducting fundraising events, ICA is also active in promoting community spirit among the Filipinos in Austria and assimilating Filipino culture and values into Austrian society.
„Let me congratulate you for the past 30 years of your achievements. Not less important is your effort to preserve the Filipino culture through your organization. We owe it to you, that you are able to preserve, while you are here in Austria, the culture and the traditions of the Filipino and including your children, the 2nd generation of Filipinos who are here inAustria,“ the Senator added.
The 30th Anniversary Celebration of ICA also featured dinner, dancing, cultural dance presentations. Ambassador Maria Cleofe Natividad and other Embassy officials likewise graced the event
