The Novo Ecijanos in Austria celebrated on September 1, 2018 the 122nd Anniversary of the Unang Sigaw ng Nueva Ecija. The celebration was staged at the Salvatorianer Church Hall, 1100 Vienna.
The event marked the day when Llanera led home-grown revolutionaries in assaulting the Spanish garrison in San Isidro and freed hundreds of Katipuneros on September 2, 1896. For its role in the revolution, the province earned its place in the Philippine flag as one of the eight rays of the sun, each ray representing the provinces that revolted against the Spaniards.

Officials from the Philippine Embassy in Vienna likewise graced the Occasion.

Filipino Community leaders in Vienna also joined the Novo Ecijanos in Austria as they commemorate and take pride on their display of unity and great courage during the early days of 1896 Philippine revolution.
