Cavite, Philippines and vienna austria — The Council of Filipino Associations in Austria (CFAA) has once again initiated a worthy project in the Philippines. The CFAA sponsored a concert entitled “Awit ng Papuri sa Sagrada Familia”. Proceeds of the concert were alloted for the renovation and beautification of the Holy Family Chapel in Capipisi, Tanza, Cavite, Philippines.
The concert for a cause at the Our Lady of Pillar Seminary Gym, Imus, Cavite featured world-class Filipino Choirs and singers including the Regina Coeli Choir.
Regina Coeli, a choir from Rosario, Cavite under the direction of Conductor Mr. Renalie Aquino, won the gold prizes in the Mixed Choir and Sacred Choral Music categories in the 30th Franz Schubert International Choir Competition held in Schubert-Saal, Kozerthaus in Vienna, Austria in 2016.
Another popular and international award winning choir who performed during the concert for a cause is the IMUSICAPELLA Chamber Choir.
Fr. Ariel and his Band, the our Lady of Pillar Seminary Band likewise made guest appearances during the concert. A magnificent solo performance of Marianne Manliclic, Bronze Medalist during the last Championship of Performing Arts held in California, USA had been well appreciated by the audience.
Elmer Blanco, Chairman of CFAA said that through the concentrated efforts of dedicated groups and individuals, the concert for a cause had been staged successfully.
“I wish to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my fellow CFAA officers and member organizations for the realization of this noble project.” Blanco said.
Aside from the renovation and beautification of the Holy Family Chapel, the CFAA has also distributed school supplies to some schools in the province.
Blanco is very much thankful to the Diocese of Imus under the leadership of Bishop Reynaldo Evangelista for their support. Former Ambassador to Austria, Hon. Lourdes Yparraguirre and Century Properties were also benefactors of the project.
During the past years, CFAA had also contributed financial assistance for the rehabilitation projects of the Austrian Red Cross in the Philippines.
