The 60th Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Vienna between May 18 and 23, 2015 under the motto Building Bridges. Nine shows at the Vienna Stadthalle, a Eurovision Village at Vienna’s Rathausplatz and lots of other events for the world’s biggest music event will keep the city in suspense for one whole week.
The Netherlands, Denmark and Finland have missed out on a place in Saturday’s Eurovision Song Contest final. Along with Macedonia, Moldova and Belarus, the six countries failed to qualify during the first semi-final in Vienna, Austria. The show opened with 2014 winner Conchita Wurst performing winning song ‘Rise Like A Phoenix’.
The ten countries to qualify were:
Albania – Elhaida Dani – ‘I’m Alive’
Armenia – Genealogy – ‘Face The Fear’
Belgium – Loïc Nottet – ‘Rhythm Inside’
Estonia – Elina Born & Stig Rästa – ‘Goodbye to Yesterday’
Georgia – Nina Sublatti – ‘Warrior’
Greece – Maria Elena Kyriakou – ‘One Last Breath’
Hungary – Boggie – ‘Wars for Nothing’
Romania – Voltaj – ‘De la capăt (All over Again)’
Russia – Polina Gagarina – ‘A Million Voices’
Serbia – Bojana Stamenov – ‘Beauty Never Lies’
The second semi-final takes place on Thursday (May 21). A second group of 10 countries will join Austria, the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and special guests Australia. The final will be broadcast on Saturday on ORF 1 at 20.15 Hours.
