The Pangasinenses in Austria and devotees of our Lady of Manaoag celebrated the feast of of Mary on April 25, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Parish, Töllergasse, 1210 Vienna. The celebration was highlighted by a short procession around the church vicinity. It was followed by a Holy Mass officiated by Fr. Ronald Masilang, RCJ A nine-day novena was also held before the feast day. Just like any other gatherings, the feast day celebrations concluded with the partaking of food donated by the devotees. „All of these could serve as ways of Our Lady giving back her gratefulness to us too!“ a devotee commented. The officiating priest expressed his deep appreciation tot he Pangasinenes in Austria for bringing the image of Our Lady of Manaoag to Austria as she inspires unity and hope in the religious community. Formally known as Nuestra Señora del Santissimo Rosario de Manaoag, the devotion originates from the town of Manaog in the northern Philippine province of Pangasinan. This particular devotion has continued throughout the country over the years and has been the source of inspiration, comfort and hope to many people at home and abroad.
The devotion to the Lady of Manaoag started in Vienna through the intiative of its former President Mario Valdez, who brought the image of our Lady of Manaoag to Vienna. Since then, the Association of Pangasinenses in Austria traditionally celebrates the Feast of Lady of Manaoag on the third Sunday of April and in October.
