The city of Vienna has raised 110 million Euros from parking fees from parking permit charges through to parking fines in the city in 2013. The increase in parking permit zones in the city plus the increase in parking fines have meant the city has increased its income from parking from 69 million Euro in 2011 to 95.5 million Euro in 2012 to 110 million Euro in 2013. The city also increased the number of parking sheriffs from 300 to 430. The returns for the city are used to improve public transport, cycle ways and invest in garages.
